Deathwatch Service

It's been a while since I posted anything - blame Warhammer Online and work...but mainly Warhammer.

I was recently asked to come up with a new Deathwatch character for a potential campaign, and eventually decided to try out a Space Marine Librarian, for one of my favorite chapters - the Blood Ravens.  I was trying to get his character sheet finished up on yesterday when I got an image of his preparation to take the Oath of Binding, his power armor painted black and the silver pauldron and vambrace of the Deathwatch set upon his body.  As the tech-adepts of the chapter tend to their sacred tasks and prepare his armor for this new service the young Librarian Uriel Thraine (keeping with my tradition of naming Deathwatch characters after Space Marine heroes) meditates on the oaths yet to be spoken and the knowledge he has already gathered upon what awaits him in the darkness of the Jericho Reach.

It was nice to be drawing something again, and I'm pretty pleased with the results, although part of me wants to go back and add more clutter, maybe some incense burning, more purity seals, etc. - maybe another time.  Drawing Space Marine armor is still a real pain for me, but at least I've made some progress from my first attempts - it's actually a design that I enjoy, I just don't have much talent with it.
