Burnt Offerings - Heroes and Villains

Description

Some potential spoilers, if you haven't finished the first portion of Rise of the Runelords.

I've definitely got Pathfinder on my mind, which is very frustrating considering our GM is currently several states away, cruelly relaxing and occasionally leaping into cold, clear waters (I know I should be chaining him down to prevent those things, but doing so makes it much less likely that he'll volunteer to cook for me).  This time I decided to try something a little different, since my usual composition is to default to the 'character in the center, squeeze the background in where you can' style, and also try and draw some characters that I haven't done before.  Burnt Offerings was the first part of the Rise of the Runelords campaign that we're in the middle of, and it's a nice coincidence that our rag-tag group of adventurers line up so nicely, height-wise (we can even peek around corners as a group, Scooby Doo style, without trouble).  Fortunately the villains that we faced (the goblins raiders, Chief Ripnugget, Nualia, and Malfeshnakor himself) also lined up fairly nicely, thanks to the Chief's riding gecko.

Overall, I enjoyed the adventure series, and people had some very good moments.  I do wish that we had been a bit more into our characters back then though (no one's fault - it just takes time) because the confrontation with Nualia could have been a bit more tragic, since Fizzle and Berendal both knew her (at least in passing) before her sanity took a nose-dive.  But I've retconned the thing to work for me - that duel was fought in silence because there was nothing left to say...

Not pictured: Shalaelu (who totally saved our butts when we blundered into Malfeshnakor) and Tsuto Kaijutsu (who I loathe, because of all the punching he did to Berendal's face...).

BTW, if you have tips for more-than-one-person scenes, I am all ears.  I can't figure it out at all unless I'm working directly from reference material.
